Straight answer

Are you the mill? No.

Here is what that actually gets you — and when it does not.

We are a sourcing partner to audited aluminium mills, not a mill. We do not own a rolling line and we do not pretend to. What we do is decide which mill runs your order, put our own inspector on that mill's floor before the container is sealed, and stay the single party that answers for every item in it.

When you should buy direct instead: one full container, one grade, one size, and you already have your own inspector in China. In that case a mill desk will beat our price and we will tell you so. Our margin is earned on mixed orders, sub-millimum quantities, and the verification work most mill export desks will not do for a smaller buyer.

Aluminium Weight Calculator

Work out the shipping weight before you request a quote — it is the number your freight forwarder will ask for first.

  • Density is taken per alloy, not a flat 2.70 — 7075 and 1100 differ by 4%.
  • Works for sheet, plate, strip, foil and circle in rectangular section.
  • Your entries carry straight into the quote form, so you do not retype them.

For tube, bar and extrusion section weight, send us the drawing — the calculator does not cover hollow sections.

Calculation: thickness × width × length × density ÷ 1,000,000. Tolerance and coating weight are not included.

How we verify

Six Things We Put in Writing Before You Pay

Every claim below is backed by a document you receive. If we cannot produce the document, the claim does not go on this page.

1EN 10204 3.1 certificate ships with every order

Not a 2.2 "compliance statement". A 3.1 certificate carries the actual heat analysis and mechanical test results, signed by the mill inspector. It is standard on every order, not an upgrade you have to ask for — and a sample certificate is available before you order so you can check what you will receive.

Sample MTC available on request

2Our inspector is on the mill floor, not at the desk

For first orders and for any order above 20 t, we send our own QC to the mill for thickness gauge check, surface inspection and packing supervision. You receive the checkpoint photos before the container is sealed. And the state of your order is available on request at any point between confirmation and loading — ask and we send the current production status and photographs.

Pre-loading photo set + inspection checklist

3Gauge and flatness measured before it leaves, not after

Thickness is checked at nine points across the width, not one. Coil camber, sheet flatness and edge burr are recorded on a checklist that travels with the shipment.

Inspection checklist copy in every shipment file

4One contract, one liable party, even when it is a mixed container

A container with foil from Shandong, plate from Henan and extrusions from Guangdong is normal for us. The mill makes each item; we are the single party that answers for all of it.

Single commercial invoice and single claim contact

5Consolidation that a single mill cannot offer

Mills sell what they roll. We consolidate across mills so a 2 t order of 5052 plate can share a container with 800 kg of extrusions instead of waiting to fill a mill minimum.

Mixed-container packing list examples available

6Mill credentials you can verify independently

Every mill we allocate to holds ISO 9001. Where a market requires it, we supply the classification society approval (DNV / LR / ABS) or the AAMA coating test report with the mill name unredacted on request.

Mill allocation

Six Mill Regions, Matched to What Each One Does Well

A single mill sells what it rolls. We allocate by process — marine plate to a hot-rolling mill, foil to a foil mill, extrusions to a die shop. We publish the region and the process rather than mill names, because the supply relationship is ours to protect; the audit reports behind them are available to you under NDA.

RegionProcessWhat it is good atCertificationTypical MOQLead time
Gongyi, Henan Hot-rolled plate & thick gauge 5xxx marine plate, 6–200 mm, wide width ISO 9001 · ASTM B928 marine grade 5 t 25–35 days
Wuxi / Changzhou, Jiangsu Cold-rolled sheet & coil, slitting 1xxx / 3xxx precision sheet, tight gauge tolerance ISO 9001 · ISO 14001 2 t 15–22 days
Zouping / Binzhou, Shandong Foil rolling Household, container and pharma foil; low pinhole count ISO 9001 · Food contact declaration 1 t 20–30 days
Foshan, Guangdong Extrusion & anodising 6063 / 6061 custom die section, anodising 5–25 µm ISO 9001 · Qualanod-aligned anodising line 500 kg per die 18–28 days
Ningbo / Taizhou, Zhejiang Colour coating (coil coat line) PVDF / PE coil coating, AAMA 2605 film build ISO 9001 · AAMA 2605 test report 3 t 20–28 days
Luoyang, Henan Forging & ring rolling 2xxx / 7xxx forged ring, Ø 200–4,000 mm ISO 9001 · AS9100-aligned process control Per drawing 30–45 days

Allocation is decided per order, not per customer — the same buyer may get plate from one region and foil from another in the same container.

Process

From Enquiry to Sealed Container — Six Steps

1You send the spec

Grade, temper, thickness, width, quantity, end use. A drawing if it is an extrusion. Incomplete specs are fine — we will ask.

2We pick the mill

Allocation by process and by current rolling schedule, not by habit. We tell you which region will run it and why.

3Quote with the numbers attached

Price, Incoterm, port, lead time, MOQ and the certificate type, in one document. 24 hours on stocked grades.

4Production with our QC present

For first orders and anything above 20 t, our inspector is on the mill floor for gauge check and surface inspection.

5Packing and loading, photographed

Seaworthy packing, then photos of the strapping, the container and the seal number before it leaves.

6Documents and follow-up

EN 10204 3.1 MTC per heat, CO, packing list, BL. One contact for anything after arrival.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you the mill, or a trading company?

We are a sourcing partner to audited aluminium mills, not a mill. The mill makes the metal; we handle grade selection, mill allocation, inspection, documentation and consolidation. That distinction matters most when something goes wrong — with us there is one party that answers for the whole container, and our own inspector has already been on the mill floor before it ships.

Why should I not just buy from the mill directly?

For a single full-container order of one grade, direct can be cheaper — we will say so. Where we earn the margin is mixed orders, grades the mill does not stock, MOQs below the mill minimum, and the inspection and documentation work that a mill export desk rarely does for a small buyer.

What alloy do I need for a marine hull?

5083 or 5086 in H116/H321 temper for hull plate, 5754 or 5083 for superstructure. The reason is magnesium content: it gives seawater corrosion resistance and keeps weld strength without heat treatment. Avoid 6xxx below the waterline and avoid 2xxx in marine service entirely.

What is the difference between EN 10204 2.2 and 3.1?

A 2.2 certificate is the supplier stating that the material meets the standard — no test values, no signed heat analysis. A 3.1 certificate carries the actual heat analysis and mechanical test results, signed by the mill inspector who ran them. If your project has a classification society or an aerospace customer behind it, 3.1 is normally the minimum accepted.

What is your minimum order quantity?

2 tonnes for stocked flat-rolled product, 1 tonne for foil, and 500 kg per extrusion die. Below the mill minimum we consolidate, so small orders ship but wait for a shared container.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes. Standard A4 samples of stocked grades and finishes ship free by courier; you pay the freight. For an extrusion we can send a 200 mm section off an existing die, or quote a trial tooling cost for a new one.

How fast can you quote?

Within 24 hours on working days for stocked grades. Mill-production items take 24–48 hours because the mill has to confirm the rolling schedule before we commit a date.

Which Incoterms and ports do you work with?

FOB Shanghai, Ningbo and Qingdao are routine. CIF, CFR, DAP and EXW are available. We quote the Incoterm you name, and we state which port we based the freight on so you can compare against your own forwarder.

What happens if the material fails inspection on arrival?

Send the inspection report and photographs within 14 days of arrival. Claims are settled by us, not passed to the mill for you to chase. In practice that means replacement material, credit against the next order, or a negotiated allowance — and we say which one before you accept it.

Do you hold stock, or is everything made to order?

Both. Common grades in common gauges — 1050, 3003, 5052 sheet and coil in H14/H24 — are held at the Wuxi warehouse and ship in 7–12 days. Everything else is mill production on a 15–45 day schedule depending on category.
